Welcome to the F-12. It's the first of its kind.
In the glassing tripod world, there have always been two options: Lightweight backpacking-style heads that are packable but incapable of supporting large optics, and heavy-duty fluid heads that weigh between 1.5 and 2 pounds–often more. This is neither. It is the ultimate balance point between weight and performance. A full-strength fluid head with breakthrough glassing-minded features and no useless remnants of the film industry. Made in the United States of America.

SMOOTH AS SILK, STOPS ON A DIME

The same legendary Outdoorsmans smoothness, now in tilt and pan axes. Dead-stop motion with no "drift" for precision and user-friendliness.

WEIGHS LESS THAN A BEER CAN

It's called the F-12 for "Fluid, 12 ounces," but it actually weighs 11.9. That's lighter than the Gen 2 Pan Head; closer in weight to the Micro. Half the weight of the Fluid Head with the durability that we've proven over decades.

ARCA-SWISS

STREAMLINED INTERFACE

Adjustable, quick-release, ARCA-Swiss only. No more special plates. We even include one that fits like your noggin' in your trusty huntin' ball cap.

ANY OPTIC

LIGHT, MEDIUM, AND HEAVY

The F-12 is as happy shouldering your 8x as it is with your 15s, rifle, spotter, or two spotters. No difference in movement. Adjustable tension for preference.

CUSTOMIZABLE

FULLY ADJUSTABLE HANDLE

Adjustable carbon fiber handle to find your "sweet spot." If you're conscious of weight, remove it completely.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

Can the F-12 handle a BTX with a 115 objective?

The F-12 comfortably carries the weight of Swarovski's BTX with the 115 attached. Fluid pockets in both the pan and tilt make for extremely comfortable glassing with any optic you throw on it.

Do I need separate plates for my optics?

As long as your optic has an Arca-Swiss foot the F-12 will accept it. However, we've found many optic manufactures have Arca-Swiss bases that are slightly out of spec. While the F-12's clamping system is adjustable in field, we do recommend using one model plate across all of your optics so you don't have to adjust to each spec individually.

Can I shoot off of the F-12?

Yes, the F-12 if fully capable of handling rifle recoil.

How does this compare to your other tripod heads?

We used to create compatibility charts that paired certain tripod heads with certain optics. The Micro Pan Head was perfect for a lightweight kit and small/medium binoculars. The Fluid Head was geared toward larger optics and rifles, and so on.

We are thrilled to tell you that the F-12 covers all of the bases, and then some. From a scant Zeiss SFL 40 to a Kowa Highlander, this head will hold it tight, move it smoothly, and lock down in any position. We hope you can appreciate how big of a deal that is.

Can I use my original Binocular Adapter on the F-12?

Yes, with an adapter. We are joining the rest of the world in being all-in on Arca-Swiss so that means your original Binocular Adapter won't natively fit on the F-12, but with one of our new Arca plates you'll be back and running in no time. Alternatively, we have also updated the Binocular Adapter to fit seamlessly with the F-12 and all of our future tripod heads.

What will change between the Live Builder Edition and future versions?

We don't anticipate massive changes from one version to the next. The changes may include internal processes, engravings, or small quality of life changes depending on the feedback we receive. The Live Builder Edition will include an laser engraving noting it was a part of the first production run as well as a unique serialized number.
