Can the F-12 handle a BTX with a 115 objective?

The F-12 comfortably carries the weight of Swarovski's BTX with the 115 attached. Fluid pockets in both the pan and tilt make for extremely comfortable glassing with any optic you throw on it.

Do I need separate plates for my optics?

As long as your optic has an Arca-Swiss foot the F-12 will accept it. However, we've found many optic manufactures have Arca-Swiss bases that are actually out of spec. While the F-12's clamping system is adjustable in field, we do recommend using one model plate across all of your optics so you don't have to adjust to each spec individually.

Can I shoot off of the F-12?

Yes, the F-12 if fully capable of handling rifles to shoot off of.

How does this compare to your other tripod heads?

We used to create compatibility charts that paired certain tripod heads with certain optics. The Micro Pan Head was perfect for a lightweight kit and small/medium binoculars. The Fluid Head was geared toward larger optics and rifles, and so on.

We are thrilled to tell you that the F-12 covers all of the bases, and then some. From a scant Zeiss SFL 40 to a Kowa Highlander, this head will hold it tight, move it smoothly, and lock down in any position. We hope you can appreciate how big of a deal that is.

Can I use my original Binocular Adapter on the F-12?

Yes, with an adapter. We are joining the rest of the world in being all-in on Arca-Swiss so that means your original Binocular Adapter won't natively fit on the F-12, but with one of our new Arca plates you'll be back and running in no time. Alternatively, we have also updated the Binocular Adapter to fit seamlessly with the F-12 and all of our future tripod heads.
