Bought with intentions of using it for western antelope, where grabbing the rifle fast can really help and fumbling with the top load style flambeau cases is difficult with 2 guys at the same time. This top load case was to solve that issue. At first glance I really liked it, its pretty heavy empty, shipping label said package was like 20lbs. I like that the foam is made up of several smaller pieces where u can remove and reorganize it as needed. I moved some around here and there trying my best to fit my rifles (Win mod 70 Featherweight w/ Leupold vx6 w/ Harris bipod and Rem mod 700 Varmit w/ Leuopld vx3) and it doesnt fit anything perfect. It looks like i'll have to cut the foam pcs to get it to fit. Everything sits too high and the lid wont close without hitting the tops of the scopes. Also upon further inspection of the interior, the hard ABS plastic framing inside that keeps the case rigid...has foam glued to it. so if and when that wears out, im expecting to have an afternoon of swearing as I scrape and replace that foam. The carry handles are nice, no complains there. The wheels are wheels, we'll c how they hold up long term. The zipper seems solid enough. I didnt really care about the D rings on the top and sides until I got to looking at them, they dont line up very welll. On one side, the ring mounted on top and its corresponding one on the side are like a half inch or so off. The other side is only about an eighth off. After looking at several styles and manufacturers of gun cases similar, id really hoped that for $300 I would have gotten a bit more or a bit better for the money. All in all, with a little modifying on my end im sure it will do what I need it to do.
