Why do my binoculars tilt side to side?
When the adapter is in the fully locked position you may notice that the binoculars are still able to tilt from side to side. This is intentional and necessary for two reasons:

  1. Glassing on flat ground is not a common occurrence and being able to level the binoculars is vital to staying comfortable and effective while glassing.
  2. Mistakes happen and sometimes spills can happen. If something like that were to happen, having a little give in the adapter will help to reduce damage and impact.

Piece of Cake...

This is my second bino stud and they are super easy and fast to install (both of mine were for Vortex binos). Make sure to check Outdoorsmans chart to buy the correct stud. I recently bought Vortex Razor HD 10x42 binos, and it required a different stud than my Vortex Viper HD 10x42. The chart(s) is/are super easy to make the right selection. Just like all of their products, the bino stud is high quality.

Pretty Good

Easy to use, generally secure. Just make sure to check that it is securely tightened in your binoculars often. Mine vibrated loose, even though my binos were cased for rough side-by-side travel. If not for my bino case, stud could have been lost. I've also since ordered a back-up to keep in my glassing back-up box.
