Solid Tripod with Managed Expectations

Let's call a spade a spade, this is not an Outdoorsmans tripod. It's not meant to be beat to hell, it's not meant to hold a BTX/115. What it is, is a solid, lightweight, packable, and inexpensive tripod.

I bought this thing for my 7-year old kid to use when he comes hunting with me. It's a perfect entry level tripod that is easy enough for anyone to use, and light enough for a 7 year old to carry.

The ball head actually works great and has some tension to it. Keep in mind, it's not a pan and tilt head, but it is what it is and it works just fine for the intended use.
I highly recommend this tripod for anyone looking to get into glassing without breaking the bank. Sure, you'll probably have to upgrade at some point, but at least this gets you a solid platform and a decent amount of money left over to put into better glass.

Great starter tripod.

I really like the idea of this tripod, but it’s pretty flimsy when extended and hard to get setup on uneven surfaces. Very compact and lightweight though.
