    Pretty nice

It's pretty much what I wanted, might be a tad bit small for the big loads, but for a senior hunter like myself it will make me lighten up some & perhaps keep me in the sport a few more years!! HALLELUJAH 🙏

    I like it!

I’ve had this pack a couple years now, wanted to test a few times before reviewing. The compact size is great. I brought it with me on my Mexico desert sheep hunt. That’s the only bag I brought with me. It fit on the plane as a carry on even with a weeks worth of clothes, tripod, binos, etc. I packed out my ram head-horns, cape, skull and felt it did a good job, even though it wasn’t a bad hike out. I started using it for pack training as well. For me it actually rides better than the frame with the atlas trainer. I’m not sure why, but the Ole outdoorsman external frame just carries too much weight on my shoulders. And I’ve messed with that frame for 3 years, I just can’t get a heavy load to sit right on my body. Thankfully the spur 50 places the same amount of weight in my hips rather than my shoulders. Not saying the big frame is a bad pack setup, it just doesn’t fit right for me. So, I’ll definitely be running the Spur 50 for training and all my day to 3 day hunts!

Great pack - couple small fixes.

I’m very picky when it comes to packs and I Love this pack. Just finished up a desert sheep hunt here in New Mexico and the pack performed very well. Love the overall setup, the twin tripod/spotting scope pockets and the optics pocket on top. Very well thought out and designed. Great day pack with the ability to load up when needed. Once we harvested a ram on the recent hunt, during the pack out I was able to carry out all my gear, the tripod and optics from one of my buddies to make more room in his pack for meat, the hunter’s rifle, and a portion of the meat between the frame and the pack bag. Only have a couple issues so far. The metal buckle that slips into the polymer frame to secure the lower part of the shoulder strap to the frame occasionally slips out when lifting or lowering the pack by one strap, and the short strap and buckle at the top of the tripod/spotting scope sleeves loosen on their own. I fixed the shoulder strap issue by lacing the metal buckle in place on the frame with some gutted P-chord. I replaced the buckle and strap on the tripod sleeve with a stiffer locking type buckle which solved that issue. These are minor problems in an otherwise great pack thus far. Very happy with this purchase.

I love it so far only wore it the 1/2 mile walk to get the mail with a spotting scope set of 12s and tripod in it going to add my water bag and scouting gear in and go for a hike within the next month can’t wait to go archery hunting with it in January
