Availability: In Stock

The Outdoorsmans Micro Pan Head is a great option for the ultralight hunter. Weighing in at only 7.5 oz, it can hold any pair of binoculars and most spotting scopes perfectly still.

A general recommendation to avoid unwanted vibration is to use the Micro Pan Head with spotting scopes up to 65 mm. The Micro Pan Head's tilt and pan functions are extremely smooth, making it the best head on the market when ounces matter in your pack.

Adapter plate not included with the Micro Pan Head.

  • Lightweight Tripod Head
  • 7.5oz machined aluminum
  • Fully Compatible with all Outdoorsmans Quick Release Adapters
  • 3/8ths mounting hole
  • Outdoorsmans Adapter plates sold separately

How does the Micro Pan Head differ from the Outdoorsmans Pan head?
Although both Lightweight Tripod Heads are designed to pan and tilt with ease, the Micro Pan Head is slightly smaller and lighter, ideal if you are looking at saving space and weight. If you mostly use larger optics, the Original Outdoorsmans Panhead is recommended.

Which adapter plates do I need?
All optics, cameras and rifle rests attach to the Quick Release Adapter system using a 1/4-20 Adapter Plate.

How does the Micro Pan Head attach to my tripod?
The Outdoorsmans Micro Pan Head attaches to a tripod using a 3/8 stud, or can be used with any of the Outdoorsmans Quick Release Adapters.

micro pan head

The micro pan head is a great piece of gear. I wanted to buy one for several years and finally took the plunge. It is pricey, but worth it and I don't think I will ever need to buy another one. It is light and very stable. The machining on all components is precise and much better than anything I have used. I recommend adding the quick release adapter allowing for quick release of the pan head in addition to any adapter plates or bino mounts. The tripod will pack smaller without the pan head attached. It is great for my binos, 50mm backpacking spotter and SLR camera w/ 300mm lens.

Smooth and simple

This pan head is simple in design and operates like butter. Needed another Outdoorsman pan head head for my window mount in the pickup. It works flawlessly!

Micro pan

The micro pan is a huge step up. It’s all I heed for backpack hunting and works perfectly for my
65mm spotter and Binos. Wish I just bought it years ago and didn’t waste money getting there.

Pro-tip...

To the designers... if you're sitting crossways to high winds... the opening of the little arm handle acts like a sort of whistle (like blowing across the opening of a coke-bottle kinda thing), and creates a tone. My solution was to just shoot some window-sealer expanding foam into there and then just trim off the excess after it expands and hardens. Now she's quite too!

Pan Head

There were complaints in other reviews about it being hard to lock in place but I have not found this to be the case. It runs smooth and works amazingly well with my NL Pures, which I also highly recommend.
