Redesigned in 2016, the Outdoorsmans Long Range Pack System has new features that many customers have been looking for!

  • Our new padded optics pouch on the top lid will carry your 15's with ease.
  • The new Tripod Mounting System allows for quick and easy retrieval of your tripod.
  • This new design offers more pockets and dividers for small items.
  • A new feature is the ability for the bag to separate from the frame. This gives you the ability to carry meat and all your gear at the same time.
  • 7500 cubic inches of storage
  • Meat sling not included with the Long Range Pack System.
  • Accessorize with our Water Bottle Holder and Accessory Pod.

Available in 3 materials

  • Multicam 500 Denier Cordura (7lbs 4oz)
  • True Timber 400 Denier Cordura with soft cloth overlay: (8lbs 2oz)
  • Coyote Brown 1000 Denier Cordura (7lbs 11oz)

The key to the Outdoorsmans Pack System is the frame. The curvature allows the pack to ride as close to your center of gravity as possible, giving you the stability of an internal frame, but the carrying capacity of the external frame. The polypropylene frame is rigid enough in the vertical plane to handle a 200 lb. load, yet is flexible enough to twist with your body while climbing or twisting through brush. The bag itself is attached at eight different points with easily inserted buckles. The bag covers a meat carrying system that is tucked neatly against the frame so you can convert your hunting pack into a meat packer in less than two minutes

Wow.

This is my first real hunting pack. To get in shape for the hunting season/Marine Corps boot camp I went back packing in back country Maine with the friends (two of which had never been camping before). We were in the heart of bear country. Because I was with new campers/backpackers I ended up humping most of there stuff in, including all of our food for the week. The bag was big enough to fit quite literally everything including cook ware and a shotgun. Lucky we had the shot gun because the bears near by could smell the Outdoorsman Long Range pack and one of them assumed a real hunter was with it so he had to act before we came for him. He plotted and attacked at night while we were sleeping. Charging one of our tents, we started yelling and swung the shotgun around and fired the warning shot in front of it. The beast realized he was no match for the person who had acquired such a fantastic hunting pack and he ran off and told his friends to stay away or risk being totally dominated by the owner of the Long Range Pack owner. So be warned, if you get this pack be prepared to GET AFTER IT early and often.

Killer Belt & All The Right Pockets

I had used the Optics Hunter for several years before having a chance to go on a trip with the new Long Range. The added material to this belt made a huge difference when the pack was fully loaded. I had great contact on all points of my waste.

At first, I thought I would find the numerous pockets troublesome when trying to find something quickly. Once I had pockets picked out for various things, It became nice to have an easily accessible spot for what I needed and did not have to rummage through the main compartment.

The new system which allows you to haul meat between the frame and bag was flawless. It allows you to use the meat shelf of the frame perfectly to situation quarters at your center of gravity. Once you tighten all the straps, the pack stays very sleek and tightly kept together.

Perfect system for long and heavy trips that involve a lot of gear!

Best Pack Made

The Outdoorsman's Long Range Pack is the most versatile pack in the industry. It can compress down for day hunt use or expand large enough to handle a full 10 day hunts. The rigidity of the external frame handles heavy loads better than an internal frame and yet flexes with your torso in technical terrain. The shooting V is an awesome tool! I have taken at least 10 animals using the frame as my front rest. The pack design makes it easy to access your bino's, spotting scope, rifle and tripod without having to unload your pack.

One big problem

This is my second hunting season with this pack. The first season it held up great. It is a versatile pack and very attractive and practical.

I’m not one to give negative reviews unless it’s a real concern. I work for a hunting outfit, so I am part of a lot of pack outs . More than your average hunter in a season. So I need durability out of a pack.

On the website it shows this pack frame getting run over by a truck and being fine, and I completely believe it.

Well my second season in I was loading up an elk hind quarter, and it completely bent the the plastic and won’t return to its original shape. Now when I use it, the frame bows into my back. After a while of rubbing it’s pretty obnoxious.

That’s the main issue with the pack. I have two small complaints that I think could make the pack a little better. If you don’t like long straps all over the place, you may not like this pack. What would be cool is if a strap retention system was created. Also the meat sling utilizes pull through straps rather than buckles. After chasing down, stalking in, shooting, caping, and quartering an animal, having a quick way to load up that meat is nice. At least having the a buckle option would be nice.

I’ll include some photos of what I was describing. Overall the bags themselves and the versatility of this pack is great, but if it’s not durable and rugged enough, it’s not worth the $500
